Every year, at this time, millions of Christmas cards are sent from suppliers to their customers; we receive plenty ourselves! We have long felt that this can be a somewhat impersonal activity with cards sent unsigned and often not addressed to an individual. We have tended to “opt out” of this annual tradition and this year will be no exception.
But we are not Scrooges! This year we shall mark Christmas by making a donation to the hospitality and catering industry’s benevolent fund – Hospitality Action. Not that we’re hoarders or anything, but I came across a 1972 price list the other day. Lincat was founded in 1971 so this must be the earliest piece of sales literature still in existence. Nothing like today’s 48-page, full-colour masterpiece, it was a simple 2?sided photocopy (probably “photostat” back then) of a typed list. (more…)
